Reusing packaging materials

Alternative Uses for Packaging Materials

Your packing materials may look a little different, because this is not their first use. We hope it isn't their last, either. One of the ways we stay eco-friendly is making sure we only use filler that is on its second use or more. You can help that filler continue its journey by reusing it.

Paper: use it as a lint-free window cleaner, lay it down as a protective surface for messy art projects, add it to the compost bin, tear it up as a natural weed block, pack and protect your own items with it, or recycle it.

Plastic: gift it through your local Buy Nothing group, line the inside of pots with bubble wrap to protect delicate plants from cold air, drop it off at a local co-op to protect cold food for delivery, check Craigslist for neighbors who are moving and need packing material, use it to pack your own items, bubble wrap your windows to save on heat, stuff handbags and shoes in storage so they keep their shape, or drop it off at any UPS or FedEx store for reuse.

Our reused and reusable filler is just one way A Simple Planet keeps single-use items from being produced and out of our landfills.
